2024 Fire Safety Lecture and Evacuation Drill

At 1:00 p.m. on October 29, 2024, the International College of the University of South China invited the Hengyang Fire Rescue Detachment to hold a fire safety knowledge training session in the lecture hall of the library on the Hongxiang Campus. Xiao Wei, Director of the Technical Service Center of the Hengyang Fire Rescue Detachment, served as the keynote speaker. The purpose of this activity was to enhance students' awareness of fire safety, strengthen their ability to save themselves and others, and ensure the safety and stability of the campus.

At the training session, the professionals from the Fire Rescue Detachment explained in detail the importance of fire safety and common fire hazards. The content covered how to use fire extinguishers correctly, emergency response measures in case of a fire, and escape techniques, etc.

In addition to the theoretical knowledge training, international students also experienced a fire evacuation drill in the dormitory. During the drill, the Security Department of our university and the Fire Rescue Detachment jointly simulated a fire scenario in the dormitory. The firefighters guided the students to evacuate quickly and orderly, ensuring that every student could master the escape route and method.

This activity received a positive response from the majority of students. Everyone expressed that through the training and drills, they had enhanced their understanding and application ability of fire safety knowledge. The International College of the University of South China will continue to cooperate closely with the fire department and regularly hold relevant training and drill activities to ensure that every student can calmly deal with emergencies and safeguard their own safety.
