On March 20, 2025, the International College of University of South China successfully held a symposium on the satisfaction survey of bank account services for foreign teachers and students. This event was jointly hosted by the International College of University of South China and the Hengyang Central Sub-branch of the People's Bank of China. It aimed to optimize payment services, enhance payment convenience, provide high-quality, efficient and convenient financial services for foreign teachers and students, and further improve the experience of foreign teachers and students studying, working and living in China.
At the symposium, Deputy Governor Zheng Hongbin of the People's Bank of China and Deputy Dean Chen Zhiming of the International College of University of South China delivered speeches respectively, emphasizing the importance of the internationalization of financial services. Representatives of international students actively spoke up and reflected problems such as the long distance to the account opening outlets, the long time for telegraphic transfer, and the lack of English-language services. Susanna, an international student from Russia, said, "The account opening process is complicated, and I hope the bank can provide more English-language support."
In response to these issues, China Construction Bank stated that it would go deep into the campus to assist international students in card application and provide multilingual service guides. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China pledged to optimize the international remittance process and shorten the time for telegraphic transfer to reach the account. Chen Zhiming said that in the future, such cooperation will be continuously promoted to provide more convenient and efficient financial services for foreign teachers and students.
This symposium not only addressed the practical needs of foreign teachers and students but also provided valuable references for the international improvement of bank services. It demonstrated the proactive efforts of the University of South China in promoting the internationalization of the campus.
