On November 1, 2024, with the autumn air refreshing and the sun shining brightly, the Student Track and Field Games of University of South China kicked off amidst laughter and cheerful voices. For this grand event, the International College sent international students from 19 countries to participate in the opening ceremony. Dressed in unified costumes, they held the national flag of China and the flags of their own countries in their hands and formed a unique phalanx team, adding a strong international atmosphere to the opening ceremony.
During the three-day competition, 40 international students participated in 24 sports events with great enthusiasm, competing on the same field as Chinese students and showcasing the demeanor of international students at the University of South China. In the intense competition, the international students from foreign countries were not afraid of strong opponents and fought tenaciously, presenting a series of wonderful competitions to the audience.
Among them, BARI ABDUL from Pakistan performed outstandingly in the men's 100-meter hurdles event. With his excellent strength and unwavering belief, he achieved an excellent result of fourth place. Meanwhile, IHSAN SAHAR from Indonesia also gave an excellent performance in the women's discus throw event. She bravely secured the eighth place, winning honor for the International College.
The international students on the sports field interpreted the spirit of hard work with their sweat and conveyed friendship with their smiles. Their participation not only enriches the connotation of the Track and Field Games of University of South China, but also promotes the communication between Chinese and foreign students, demonstrating the achievements of the internationalized education of University of South China.
After three days of intense competition, at 16:30 on November 3, 2024, the Student Track and Field Games of University of South China came to an end amidst cheerful music. At the closing ceremony, the international students and athletes who participated in the opening ceremony once again put on their unified costumes and stepped into the venue in perfect order, bringing this grand sports event to a successful conclusion.
