From May 23 to 25, Gao Shan, Secretary of the Party Committee of University of South China, led a delegation to Vienna, Austria, to visit the International Atomic Energy Agency. Deputy Director General Liu Hua, Mikhail Chudakov and Najadai Mokta met with members of the delegation one after another, and reached a series of consensus on deepening practical cooperation between the two sides in the fields of high-level visits, personnel training, scientific research and teacher exchanges.
In the Ministry of Technical Cooperation, Gao Shan met with Liu Hua, Deputy Director General and Minister of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and met with Deng Ge, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department, Shaukat Abdulrazak, Director of the Africa Department, Eve-Kulli Kala, Director of the European Department, and Lisa Stevens, Director of the Cancer Action Plan, discussed in depth cooperation opportunities in the fields of personnel training, environmental protection, radiation protection, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.

At the Ministry of Nuclear Energy, Gao Shan met with Mikhail Chudakov, Deputy Director General and Minister of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and met with Aline Le Grand des Cloizeaux, Director of the Department of Nuclear Power, and Olena Mykolaichuk, Director of the Department of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology. Huang Wei, director of the Department of Planning, Information and Knowledge Management, exchanged in-depth cooperation intentions in the development of stellarators, nuclear fuel cycle, radioactive wastewater treatment, and Marie Curie scholarship application.

In the Ministry of Nuclear Science and Applications, Gao Shan met with Najadai Mokta, Deputy Director General and Minister of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The two sides believed that there is a possibility of multi-form and multi-level cooperation between the University of South China and the International Atomic Energy Agency in the field of nuclear-medical integration, and that the University of South China has the complete conditions to cultivate and build a "Collaborative Center for the Training of Radiotherapy Physicians".

In the next step, with the support of the National Atomic Energy Agency, University of South China will sign a practical cooperation agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency to promote the high-quality development of the atomic energy industry and the school.
During the visit, Gao Shan and his delegation also visited the Permanent Mission of the National Atomic Energy Agency to the International Atomic Energy Agency, and visited local alumni and visiting teachers.
From May 20 to 21, Gao Shan also led the delegation to visit the University of West Scotland in the United Kingdom. The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation on student training, and conducted in-depth plan on how to promote exchanges and cooperation between young teachers and scientific researchers of the two universities.
